Get African Business Online (GABO) has come and gone but the impact will linger for long.
It all started like a child's play some time October 14th, 2010 when Google Nigeria introduced GABO to help Nigerian SMEs create web presence for their businesses.

Lola Masha, Google Nigeria Business Development Manager was highly eager to see the Scheme succeeded and Some Nigerian companies bought into the vision, kudos to Upperlink Limited (Google Apps Reseller in West Africa), Chams Plc, NIRA and Nigeria Yellow Pages laboured tirelessly to see the project succeeded.

Resource persons from Google and other partnering companies put GABO Developers through various level of trainings.

Pastor Festus Ugwu, Benjamin Cole, Phydelis Ikechukwu, Luisella Mazza, Nii and Amos from Ghana and others.

Members of GABO Team were wonderful throughout. Abdul-Muizz Oyewole, Adewale Adepoju, Bimbo Ogunleye, Biodun Ogungbade, Bukola Oluwole, Chioma Okoli, Daniel Okwufulueze, Dunni Sunmonu, Dupe Adetunji, Etim Nsisong, Ibiyemi Olatunbosun, Ikenna Alam, Ireti Oladimeji, Kemi Adeniran, Lara Aluko, yours sincerely Michael Adediran, Mudi Mustapha, Muyiwa Ayoola, Opeyemi Ajayi, Richard Arogunjo, Segun Role, Sola Akinsanya, Solomon Omoike and Tunde Faniran.
SME owners were also excited and eager to be part of the drive, names were shortlisted and the project kick started. Sites of various size and designs were developed for the SMEs.

Google AdWords were added and January  29th the whole exercise came to a close.

The big question here is WHAT NEXT for Nigerian SMEs?, can we truly replicate Baby M success story.

What else can we the GABO Developers do for these SMEs to help promote their businesses and help them maximized the WEB benefit.

Please submit your comments and let us rub minds together.

Many thanks to Google Nigeria and many thanks to GABO Team.
